My philosophy is to keep things as simple and happy as possible. I want life to be enjoyable for the children and for me. Learning is fun! Even in high school.
Living books make life sweeter, especially if you are a homeschool mom! Our rooms are lined with bookshelves filled with living books. In fact, we spend more money on books than curriculum.

If you’re like me, you look for reasons to throw a party. Whether it’s an International Picnic or a Geography Fair, I love to decorate! I also love to do it as inexpensively as possible and make the clean up easy.
Since we were learning about car racing, we decided to have some hands-on-fun! If you are studying the 1920s, what could be more fun than to have our own Grand Prix? Or at least a big race!

I remember rocking my oldest daughter Katie Beth in the middle of the night in a small apartment in Phoenix. She had fallen asleep in my arms and as I gazed at her face, I felt overwhelmed with the responsibility of motherhood.
Ancient history is a favorite in our house! We love to dig in and study Creation and the early years before the flood. We enjoy learning about Sumer, Crete, Minoa, Ancient Israel, Babylon, Assyria, Persia, Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, and Ancient Rome.
Again, don’t interrupt your kids. Just let them share. Don’t be afraid of silence. They might need time to process before they speak.
