I was so excited to receive The Wonder of Creation: 100 More Devotions about God and Science from IndescribableKids of Tommy Nelson Books. The hardcover book was beautifully illustrated throughout–you can see below how gorgeous the cover is! More importantly, the writing was interesting and engaging for all ages, especially children.
There are 40 stories in this The Easter Storybook starting with Jesus in the temple. As I read through all the stories I realized why it started with 12-year-old Jesus in the temple. The book shows Jesus’s purpose and ministry leading up to the cross and resurrection.
These books would make a great unit study. Reading the book each day for a week while each day could be different. One day you could map, another cook, and a third day try to learn the language. There is so much to springboard from in these sweet little geography picture books.
When I was teaching my own children to read, I was constantly looking for little series to take them from knowing “how to read” to being fluent, happy readers. I wish I had these readers back in the day, but I’m glad they’re here for my grandchildren.
Another thing I loved is the way everything is tied back to martyrs of today who are living in places where loving Jesus with all your heart could mean death!
