Resurrection-Powered Homeschooling
Tell the world what you have found here!

Do you need more strength, wisdom, energy, love, and power? How about Resurrection Power? Resurrection power is available to every Christian–even homeschool parents!

After Jesus rose from the dead, He revealed Himself in His resurrected body to His disciples. What a precious time it must have been to see the resurrected Christ. What was His glorious body like? I don’t know but I do know He could suddenly appear!

Should we only think about the Resurrection at Easter?

No way!

You can live every day in the Resurrection Power of Jesus.

The Power of the Resurrection

“Our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body” (Philippians 3:20-21)

The resurrection power that gives Jesus authority will also give us heavenly bodies one day when we are in Heaven. We will have glorious bodies, too!

But what about now?  If we go back a little bit in Philippians chapter 3, we learn about Paul’s desire to experience the Resurrection Power of Jesus.

Paul says, “I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death” (Philippians 3:10)

Wait. Why is Paul mentioning resurrection power and suffering in the same passage.

Wisdom to Know Him Better

“I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength He exerted when He raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed Him to be head over everything for the church, which is His body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way” (Ephesians 1:17-23).

Jesus died and God raised Him up to a higher place ruling and reigning. This is a great passage to memorize and meditate on.

Later we read in Ephesians that we are lifted up and seated with Christ in the Heavenly realms. It all sounds so wonderful but what does it have to do with homeschooling?

Jesus died. It started in the Garden when He said, “Not my will, but Thine be done.” It ended on the cross.

We have been crucified with Christ (see Galatians 2:20) and the life we live we live by faith in the Son of God who loved us and died for us.

Homeschooling Dead to Me; Alive to Christ

We have to remember that we are dead. We surrendered our agenda. And we must re-surrender every day. “This is Your homeschool, Lord. Have your way. Accomplish your will.”  Later in the day, we may have to pray again, “Lord, I’m feeling tired and grumpy. My kids are not getting it. How can I teach them?

There is so much power in surrendering to God. This is not giving up–it’s yielding our right. We might feel entitled to an easy life, perfect children, perfect health–it’s all on the altar now.

Then we allow God to rule and reign in our home school.

When God has His way, He moves! He changes hearts! He gives us wisdom! He speaks through His Word! He accomplishes great things.

When our children can’t get a math problem, we don’t have to despair. We are ALIVE in Christ. His wisdom and power are available!

When our son breaks his arm, we know the Healer who may heal immediately or through doctors.

When our daughter is crying AGAIN, we have a place to get supernatural compassion—we are ALIVE in Christ. When we weary from nursing the baby all night—His strength is made perfect in our weakness. We are living by every Word that proceeds from our Heavenly Father’s mouth. We are walking in Resurrection Power!

Just as we remember we are dead; we remember that we are ALIVE in Christ! We are seated with Christ in Heavenly Places. We are Super-Conquerors! We are Overcomers! If God is for us, who can be against us?

The Resurrection of Christ is not a once-a-year celebration, it is a daily way of life–even for us homeschool parents.

Remember who you are in Christ!

Until next time, Happy Homeschooling!

Love in Christ,

Meredith Curtis
