There are 5 sessions (lessons) in Let’s Study Charles Dickens & Victorian England and students are encouraged to read a work by Charles Dickens.

In the first 3 sessions, students use the Study Guide from the 2015-2016 repertory session, found on a noise within–it’s free and the link is provided! I downloaded. Students are encouraged to keep a notebook. The fourth session uses Introduction to Charles Dickens, another free resources with a link provided. The fifth session is filled with resources to download Charles Dickens works for free and other resources to learn more about the author.

In each session, students read and answer questions in their notebook. Then follows a variety of assignments that include research, mapping,, writing an essay, artwork, and cooking.

At the end of Let’s Study Charles Dickens & Victorian England , “Travel Resources” are available to be a tourist without leaving home!

My favorite part of the bundles was the Dinner with Charles Dickens & Other Famous Folks of the Mid-1800s. In this project, the students plans 3 Victorian dinners for Charles Dickens. One is in England, one in Europe, and on in North America. Guests must be invited who were alive during the time, a menu prepared, seating chart, conversation ideas, and a hostess gift.

I want to do this in real life if it were only possible! I want to gather folks from that era and sit down a long Victorian era table and converse with people like John D. Rockefeller, Queen Victoria, George Mueller, Florence Nightingale, Harriet Tubman, and Hudson Taylor! What a wonderful assignment! There’s more, of course to the assignment, but this really got me excited!

I was impressed by Charles Dickens Quotes & Copywork, part of the Let’s Study Charles Dickens & Victorian England Bundle! Each page has a carefully chosen quote to copy in the student’s best handwriting or cursive. There is also a space to draw or a question to thoughtfully answer.

I highly recommend these resources on Charles Dickens and Victorian England! Your family will have fun together and learn so much, especially if you include reading several of Dickens novels and short stories!

Take a break, relax and meet homeschool mom and amateur sleuth Maggie King! Discover the Kings, a homeschooling family that stumbles across dead bodies under mysterious circumstances. Available at Amazon in print and for your Kindle! You’ll love Maggie King Mysteries! Learn more HERE!
